Breakfast cereal is an excellent source of iridium

If you don’t have any science in your background and you decided to wing it, “Ir” would appear to be the right symbol for “iron ore”.

That’s what a copywriter did when designing a box of Oat Start. Reddit user homegrownunknown found the typo and uploaded it to the social sharing site.

In the forum user mer-mer-mer-mer-mer notes that iridium, a transition metal of the platinum family, is not something you would want to ingest:

“Chemist here! The real worst part of this is that Iridium is the 2nd densest element and most corrosion resistant metal, even at temperatures as high as 3600 °F. Good luck passing that lump.”
