Caledonia Mining in negotiations with Zimbabwe’s Government
Caledonia Mining Corporation (TSX: CAL) (NASDAQ-OTCBB: CALVF) (AIM: CMCL) announced today that is taking part in negotiations with the Government in Zimbabwe to try and agree an Indigenisation Plan at the country’s Blanket Mine.
Caledonia CEO Stefan Hayden said in a statement that the company remains fully committed to the negotiations currently on-going with the Zimbabwe government and that they hope to arrive at a mutually agreeable plan.
Hayden also responded to accusations that he had “scoffed at” the empowerment drive, branded indigenisation as a ‘political gimmick’, or that Caledonia had in any way refused to comply with the indigenisation laws or caused delays in the negotiations.

I think this CEO must change the way he does business in Zimbabwe, otherwise the company would eventually be taken over, first and foremost the company has done nothing for the community nearby, it is actually one of the worst communities I have ever seen around the country
Secondly this CEO needs to meet more with his Senior management when he visits the mine, the only person he meets is the Gerneral Manger and the Finance Director and the people who do all the dirty work for him he has not made an effort to meet and interact with them which means there is a lot happening behind doors in this company, The way CEO’s do business these days is different, times have changed, the cleaners is now more important in any organisations and therefore he also deserves respect just like anyone else in a workplace
Stop politics and concentrate on your mandate given to you by the board to produce the ounces safely and develop the communities you are mining from, leave politics to the [politicians
