Gold recovers from mid-morning tumble

Gold has climbed out of its hole and made up for dizzying $15 mid-morning drop.

Gold fell $15 to $1180 per ounce spot at 11:30 ET today. It is now back and trading at $1,195 as of 1:15 ET. Bargain hunters lifted gold back up.

The markets still await FOMC minutes due out this afternoon.
