Your impact
As a Specialist, HSE Risk & Assurance, you will strengthen Newmont’s commitment to health, safety, security, and environmental excellence across our global operations. You will lead key risk and assurance activities that protect our people and assets, improve how we manage operational risks, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.
As part of our team you will
Lead risk-based assurance activities, including Level of Defense 2 (LOD2) programs, to enhance operational risk management across global sites.
Oversee governance processes that support the development and maintenance of Newmont’s operational risk standards.
Support implementation of control frameworks and verification programs to ensure effectiveness of risk controls.
Monitor and validate site-level risk reporting to ensure accuracy, alignment, and strong governance.
Oversee incident management protocols and conduct post-incident governance reviews that promote organizational learning.
Partner with Internal Audit and Risk & Governance teams to align assurance programs with enterprise priorities.
Benchmark performance and advance continuous improvement using industry best practices.
Prerequisites for your success in this role
Advanced proficiency in assurance, risk management, and analytical problem-solving.
Bachelor’s degree in safety or sustainability, engineering, business, geoscience, finance, or related field (preferred).
Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, incident investigation techniques, and experience with HSE management systems.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks across diverse operational environments.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels.
Your work environment
You will be part of Newmont’s global HSSE function, working closely with enterprise, business unit, and site-level teams. This role combines independent work with extensive cross-functional collaboration to ensure consistent application of risk and governance processes across the organization.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $110,160- 144,585. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
