Operator Equipment (Excavator) – Processing
About The Role
Reporting to the Area Supervisor in the Processing Department, the
Operator Equipment (Excavator) – Processing is responsible in operating hydraulic excavators safely and efficiently in accordance with mine plans and production targets.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- 3–5 years’ experience operating diggers/excavators in a mining or large construction environment
- Certificate of competency or relevant operator ticket
- Valid and current PNG Class Seven (Heavy Equipment) operator license
- Strong understanding of safety standards and hazard awareness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Good communication skills and a strong team mindset
Key Responsibilities
As an Operator, Equipment (Excavator), you will:
- Operate hydraulic excavators safely and efficiently in accordance with mine plans and production targets
- Conduct daily pre-start checks and report any defects or hazards
- Maintain effective communications with Supervisors and ensure scheduled tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Work collaboratively with control room operators and other equipment operators
- Load dump trucks or other equipment safely while maintaining optimal cycle times
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area
- Adhere to all NPL safety protocols, policies, and procedures
- Follow NPL Traffic Management Standard and Site Security Protocols
- Work in a manner that will not endanger self or any other person and communicate effectively across all levels.
- Maintain high level of health and safety awareness and comply with NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedures.
