Job Purpose
To lead and manage surveying operations in support of exploration and development activities. The Lead Surveyor ensures the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of spatial data collection and processing, contributing to geological modeling, site planning, and operational decision-making.
Key Accountabilities
- Plan and execute topographic, geodetic, and GPS surveys for exploration and site development.
- Supervise survey teams and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Process and validate spatial data using industry-standard software and equipment.
- Maintain and calibrate survey instruments and ensure readiness for field deployment.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and GIS specialists to integrate survey data into project workflows.
- Prepare survey reports, maps, and documentation for internal and external use.
- Train junior surveyors and contribute to technical capability development.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental guidelines in field operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field. Professional certification (e.g., RICS, GISP) preferred
Minimum Experience
8–10 years of experience in surveying, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role
