KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Specialised Artisan, Mechanical & Fitting
The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

Build, monitor and maintain water control systems for the benefit of mining production. The incumbent tasks a team of specialists and the scope / portfolio of this role includes building and installing pump stations, dewatering the mine, ensuring no flooding takes place, and providing water supply for mining.
You will have the following:
- Must be a Trade Tested Fitter and turner/ Millwright
- Must have a Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Must have at least 8 years post–Trade Test experience as a Fitter and Turner/ Millwright in an underground mining environment
- Must have at least 8 years’ experience in building and installing pump stations in a mining environment
- Must have 8 years’ experience in , dewatering in an underground mining environment

- Supervise teams of specialists to ensure optimal mining conditions
- Ensure the area of operations is dewatered and in optimal condition to allow mining crews to mine according to plan and timelines
- Maintain the dewatering systems
- Supply Drilling Water to the mine
- Stakeholder management -Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
- People - Contribute to building a high-performing team
- Finance - Monitor costs or expenses within approved budget to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce waste
- Transformation, Change and Culture- Support Transformation in terms of people, automation/ digitisation and sustainability
- Contribute to Reporting, Governance and Quality Assurance for area of responsibility
