Your Impact
As a Specialist, GeoMet, you will play a key role in integrating geological and metallurgical insights to help Newmont maximize value from the ore body. Your work will directly influence throughput, recovery, cost performance, and overall processing outcomes across multiple operations. You will support geometallurgical modeling, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure that insights translate into meaningful operational decisions.
As Part of Our Team, You Will
• Consolidate geological data with metallurgical performance to optimize ore body exploitation.
• Analyze and forecast metallurgical behavior across multiple ore types and mine areas.
• Coordinate with process teams to align models with actual plant performance.
• Support geometallurgical sampling, test work programs, and plant surveys.
• Provide geometallurgical input into mine planning and design.
• Apply standard methodologies and geometallurgical frameworks to support daily operational decisions.
• Prepare technical reports explaining process impacts, variability, and performance insights.
• Collaborate with geology, mineralogy, processing, and exploration teams to embed geometallurgical concepts into resource modeling and operational planning.
• Represent Newmont in industry workshops or conferences as needed.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline; postgraduate degree preferred.
• Experience working with geometallurgical modeling, connecting geological parameters to metallurgical outcomes (throughput, recovery, cost implications).
• Familiarity with resource modeling, mine planning, and mining processes.
• Knowledge of deleterious elements and their impact on environment, closure, and product marketing.
• Proficiency in software tools such as Cancha (preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Hands-on experience with sampling programs, test work, plant surveys, data analysis, and modeling.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to transform complex data into operational insights.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global technical environment.
Your Work Environment
- The preferred location for candidates is near our corporate headquarters, in Denver, Colorado; however highly qualified candidates near our regional offices, or any of our site locations, will be considered.
- Collaboration and interaction are expected with teams across the global, regional, and site organization as well as across other service and operational areas of Newmont across multiple time zones.
- The listed salary range applies to positions based in Colorado. Compensation may vary for candidates hired in other locations.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $106,200- 141, 600. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
