Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

As an Electrician, you will provide safe and efficient electrical services involving the repair, servicing and maintenance across infrastructure such as, crushers, conveyors, ventilation fans, drill rigs, dewatering systems, substations, HV power reticulation network, substations and ancillary items at our Newmont Tanami Operations.
As part of our team you will:
- Perform electrical work to high standards, meet all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and repair fixed plant equipment, including crushers, conveyors, fans, drill rigs and power reticulation.
- Accurately record work completed and support maintenance planning through detailed management of tasks via CMMS (SAP)
- Perform all tasks to a high standard of quality, ensuring compliance with site procedures, statutory requirements and safety standards.
- Lead apprentices on the job, promote safe work practices and skill development.
- Identify and fix faults early, contribute to continuous improvement, and maintain a clean, safe work area.
Prerequisites for your success in this role:
- NT Electrical Licence and Electrical Trade Qualification, with prior experience
- Demonstrated experience with crusher & conveyor systems, drill rigs & electrical maintenance processes.
- Hold valid certifications in Working at Heights, Confined Space, HV Switching, LV Rescue/CPR.
- PLC knowledge and SAP (CMMS) experience preferred.
- Strong safety focus with an understanding of hoisting systems and mining.
- Clean shaven with a valid drivers licence.
