3. Role Context and Purpose
|
The plant specialist- Crushing is accountable for executing all tasked maintenance work on conveyor systems, crushers, feeders, screens safely. Training of supervisors, technicians and operators in accordance with other compliance requirements, operational and standards, systems and procedures to maximize plant availability in a compliant, safe, sustainable cost-effective manner and minimize operational risks in order to meet the business’ strategic objective.

Safety Accountabilities:
- Work according to total quality management principles and ensure zero defect objectives and safety
- Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan
- Repair and/or report on safety related problems and assist on the PM’S according to the company’s job sheet
- Develop New Standard Operating Procedures For safe and effective Maintenance on equipments
Work Accountabilities:
- Oversee carried out repairs and maintenance on the company’s unit
- Maintain Sandvik Cone Crushers (CS660/CH660), Jaw Crusher (CJ815) and ensure Successful Operation of these crushers
- Operation and Maintenance of Sandvik ASRI System
- Oversee Successful Maintenance of Conveyor belts Mechanical Components, Mineral Sizers and Apron Feeders
- Develop Optimized Maintenance Strategy and Reports
- Record any work needed to be planned into the next PM( Backlog work)
- Identify actions for continuous improvement and compliment operability to requirements is ensured
- Advise on OEM standards for carrying out PM’S on the units, especially in regard to pressure settings and adjustments(
- Confer with other engineers and other personnel to implement standard operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions and provide technical information on Jaw and cone crushers
- Investigate equipment failures, root cause analysis of faults and implement recommendations
- Follow up and coordinate with procurement to ensure spare parts inventory are always updated
- Monitor critical spares availability and liaise with procurement to ensure timely replenishment are done with quality and standard spares
- Evaluate and manage the performance of subordinates and ensure the efficient and effective use of labour to achieve company goals

6. Person Specification (list the minimum essential requirements for the role)

Qualifications :
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering or HND or Mechanical Engineering Technician III or its equivalent from a recognized institution
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience :
- Minimum of 6 years of working experience at the crushing plant or similar environment
- Experience with crusher maintenance and operation is Required (cone and Jaw)
- Experience With Jaw Crushers and Cone Crushers preferably Sandvik Crushers
- Must possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, good human relations and ability to interact with people of diverse culture and value
- Must have strong desire to coach and develop others by sharing skills and knowledge
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirement and procedures
- Knowledge of SAP PM module
Legal Requirements
- Professional Certificated Crusher Specialist with a relevant certification body. :
