Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Finance & Administration Manager, you will be part of the Finance & Administration Department. You will be responsible for the oversight, governance, and financial control of all site capital expenditures. This role ensures disciplined capital planning, business cases, cost tracking, forecasting and compliance with corporate policies and approval frameworks. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Work with site managers with developing business cases throughout the year and ensure they are financially sound;
- Collaborate with site managers to prepare and present the annual capital budget, applying first-principles methodology to ensure accuracy;
- Assist the General Manager and site Managers with enhancing Life of Mine capital profile beyond the first few years;
- Facilitate monthly Business Review Meetings and lead the quarterly capital forecasting process;
- Responsible for Ad-hoc analysis including sensitivities related to capital;
- Responsible for financial reporting, LOM planning, budgeting and forecasting for detour underground project;
- Drive the development of a comprehensive monthly dashboard and performance review framework to enhance visibility, accountability, and governance across the project;
- Participate in special projects, including, implementation of automation projects (e.g., Capital allocation solution, JDE, EPM, AMT);
- Drive finance and accounting diagnostics;
- Spearheading development of finance procedures in line with best practices;
- Develop robust talent pipeline through capacity building of finance team;
- Building financial capability/acumen within site operations and project teams, enabling informed capital decision making.
What You Need To Succeed
- Professional qualification in Accounting (CPA or international qualification);
- Ten years of related experience in a senior Finance capacity, in an industrial or mining environment leading cross functional finance team;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP software;
- High level of integrity and accountability;
- Demonstrated ability to influence business leaders in multiple areas of Finance;
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and listening skills.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 4/3 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
