Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Underground Electrical General Supervisor, you will be part of the Underground Maintenance Department. You will be responsible for providing support to the Maintenance team by being accountable for directing the workforce in daily electrical activities for all mining and mobile equipment, while ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory procedures. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Oversee and provide expertise for all electrical activities related to mining equipment maintenance and mine advancement;
- Lead and coach team members in the achievement of maintenance safety and productivity targets;
- Develop and implement standards and procedures that meet all statutory and regulatory requirements;
- Assist in the preparation of maintenance operating cost forecasts, budgets, and monthly maintenance reports;
- Schedule, plan and oversee electrical maintenance and construction activities to maximize equipment availability and reduce downtime.
- Coordinate and oversee the installation of electrical equipment such as: 13.8kv-600v Substations, Distribution equipment, VFDs Motor Starters, PLCs, Leaky Feeder, Fiber Optic, LTE ect.
What You Need To Succeed
- Ontario provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) trade certificate;
- 10 years of experience in an underground mining capacity;
- 5 years of supervisory experience with proven interpersonal and management skills to lead and inspire a team;
- Sound interpersonal and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of employees;
- Experience working in SAP, JDE or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a strong asset;
- Experience in low and high voltage distribution, SEL Protection Relays as well as troubleshooting/ programming PLC’s will also be considered an asset;
- Hands on experience with underground mining equipment, including Jumbo Drills, MacLean Bolters, Diamond Drills, Long Hole Drills, VFDs and motor starters for fans and pumps;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
