About The Goldfield District Project
Located on the Walker Lane trend in Esmeralda County, Nevada, about 30 miles south of Tonopah, the Goldfield District Project can be accessed via U.S. Highway 95 from Las Vegas or Reno. This project is an underexplored property in a prolific mining jurisdiction that provides substantial upside potential.
Goldfield is a conventional open-pit, heap leach project currently proceeding with development and construction after completing a technical study in August 2025. The project has an approximate mine life of 7-years and first production is expected by the end of 2028, adding to Centerra’s near-term gold production profile.
Goldfield District Project promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a
Manager, Plant to join our team in Goldfield District Project in
Goldfield, Nevada.
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Plant Manager leads the plant and its employees to optimize efficiency, and profitability, through successfully directing and coordinating activities of employees who are engaged in the daily mill operations.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Lead Plant Operations growth and improvement of all work activities and performance standards.
- Manage Plant Operations personnel to ensure adherence to approved procedures and to contribute to quality improvement within the operation.
- Develop and execute plans to achieve production targets while optimizing costs and improve safety.
- Lead and document continuous improvement projects.
- Lead safety initiatives that have demonstrably reduced incidents (e.g., behavioral-based safety programs, near-miss reporting improvements, fatigue management).
- Seek opportunities to grow inter-departmental partnerships to promote teamwork and deliver optimized results.
- Develop and maintain emergency back-up procedures for occurrences of mill outages, e.i., equipment breakdowns, power outages.
- Ensure the performance of quality control procedures on all incoming feed grades and ore types.
- Project capital expenditures for plant facility and prepares and maintains annual mill budget.
- Manage expenditure to within budget and reforecast as required to achieve the Annual Plan.
- Ensure all projects are effectively budgeted and monitored within time, quality and cost constraints.
- Understand cost drivers in the operations department and seek continuous improvement in unit cost performance.
- Manages expenses by studying historical data, anticipating needs, researching costs, designing inventory systems, determining inventory levels and approving orders.
- Prepares and coordinates feed and milling schedules.
- Achieve or surpass production objectives in accordance with budget and commercial requirements.
- Ensure that systems and processes for the operations are established such that production targets are met and losses reduced.
- Utilize assets to manage a quality outcome and minimize costs.
- Ensure planning is reliable, robust and repeatable.
- Achieve or exceed customer expectations by ensuring supply & specifications of product are met.
- Promote and reward innovation to improve methods and processes of the mining business.
- Influence best practice in planning activities before implementation.
- Align departmental and employee objectives and manage effective leadership, performance management, career development and succession planning of team personnel.
- Ensure full compliance with MSHA, and environmental regulations.
About You
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skillset and experience:
- BS in Chemical Engineering or an associated field strongly preferred or equivalent experience.
- 10 years mining experience in Mill Processing.
- 5 years experience in roles with increasing responsibility.
- Experience in working to budgets and capital cost expectations.
- Familiarity with SAP SuccessFactors an asset.
