About The Goldfield District Project
Located on the Walker Lane trend in Esmeralda County, Nevada, about 30 miles south of Tonopah, the Goldfield District Project can be accessed via U.S. Highway 95 from Las Vegas or Reno. This project is an underexplored property in a prolific mining jurisdiction that provides substantial upside potential.
Goldfield is a conventional open-pit, heap leach project currently proceeding with development and construction after completing a technical study in August 2025. The project has an approximate mine life of 7-years and first production is expected by the end of 2028, adding to Centerra’s near-term gold production profile.
Goldfield District Project promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a
Manager, Technical Services to join our team in Goldfield District Project in
Goldfield, Nevada.
Under the direction of the General Manger, the Technical Services Manager provides strategic leadership and management of all technical disciplines supporting mining, including mine planning, geology, engineering, survey, and geotechnical functions. The manager ensures the delivery of safe, cost-effective practices and optimum extraction of resources in alignment with Centerra’s policies and procedures.
Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Align the technical services department and individual goals with site vision and strategic planning initiatives.
- Oversee the development and execution of short, medium, and long-term mine plans, budgets, and production strategies to meet business targets.
- Ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance in mine designs, resource estimations, technical studies, and reporting.
- Manage the design, construction, and commissioning of mine infrastructures.
- Lead the business planning process, including operational costs as well as potential capital needs, to create a budget for the site.
- Coordinate technical services activities to support contract mining teams and align plans with production and development schedules.
- Implement and promote continuous improvement initiatives, adopting new technologies and best practices.
- Mentor, develop, and manage technical staff, including knowledge transfer and performance management.
- Conduct performance evaluations, recommend promotions and carry out corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare and deliver accurate technical reports, forecasts, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and corporate governance standards in all technical service activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About You
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skillset and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
- Advanced qualifications in mine planning, mineral economics, or management preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience in underground mining with at least 5 years in a technical services leadership or management role.
- Extensive expertise in mine planning, geotechnical analysis, geology, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and team development capabilities.
- Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the management team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
