Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be part of the Maintenance Department. You will be responsible for supporting the safe and continuous Mine development, Production, and Maintenance operation of the site. You are considered capable and with qualifications to install, repair and make good items in planned and unplanned maintenance. Working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS-JD Edwards), you have responsibility to ensure all information recorded is as accurate as possible. You will act as the primary link between the mechanical workforce and the Maintenance Superintendent, supporting planning, execution, and continuous improvement of maintenance activities. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Assign daily tasks to mechanics, apprentices, and contractors based on priority, skill level, and equipment availability;
- Work collaboratively and cross functionally with colleagues, engineering, production, and services to achieve the objectives of the Maintenance Department;
- Consistently apply established policies, procedures and best practices;
- Monitor work progress, remove barriers, and communicate status updates to the Maintenance Superintendent;
- Work within budget, guidelines and standards and execute safety and maintenance plans as established by the mine and Agnico Eagle maintenance standard;
- Inspire and lead crew in safety, housekeeping, teamwork and professionalism;
- Ensure work history is entered into planned and completed work orders and are returned to the planner for close out;
- Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of work orders for completion by their required By Date;
- Inspire and lead crew in safety, housekeeping, teamwork and professionalism;
- Ensure crew follows assignments and assess assignments during shift to ensure that schedules are being attained, and/or take corrective actions as required. Complete all maintenance related reports and work orders and communicate status to oncoming shift(s);
- Lead and support the Millwrights in maintenance execution. Lead the performance of preventative maintenance;
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and free of safety hazards on a continuous basis and conduct routine inspections of the workplace;
- Overhaul and install parts on mobile and fixed equipment installations;
- Work with OEM contractors to carry out maintenance activities;
- Work with the Planner to ensure materials are ordered and entered purchase requisitions JDE;
- Communicate reports on maintenance and log repairs;
- Install new or overhauled equipment in a timely manner according to manufacturers recommendations;
- Conduct equipment inspections in response to Operations concerns or as outlined by a maintenance schedule;
- Perform repairs in a cost effective, safe, and environmentally friendly manner to maximize equipment availability;
- Plan and communicate work with other departments;
- All other duties as assigned.
What You Need To Succeed
- Ontario provincial or inter-provincial (Red Seal) trade certificate;
- 5–10 years of heavy industrial or mining maintenance experience; gold processing experience preferred;
- Ability to lead teams and be accountable for site maintenance activities;
- A general understanding of computers- Microsoft & Outlook;
- Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate team members.
