Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Technical Services General Supervisor, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will serve as the technical lead for mine engineering, planning, ground control, and ventilation, providing expert guidance across all stages of underground operations. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining mine plans, designing and evaluating ventilation systems, and implementing ground control strategies to ensure safe and efficient production. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Mine design and planning for safe and efficient production;
- Ventilation planning and development of ventilation systems;
- Conduct ventilation surveys;
- Conduct ground control audits and support geotechnical compliance;
- Long-term ventilation and ground control planning with input from project stakeholders;
- Support development and maintenance of Technical Services procedures;
- Contribute to annual budget physicals and cost estimates for ventilation and ground control;
- Assist with short- and mid-term mine design and production planning;
- Collaborate with Geology to ensure plans reflect current geological data;
- Lead design meetings and communicate plans to all stakeholders;
- Develop and refine conceptual mine designs for projects and construction;
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Need To Succeed
- Degree in Mining Engineering;
- Minimum 6 years of mining experience in underground mining within engineering roles;
- Experience in ventilation and ground control planning;
- Experience with Deswik planning software;
- Experience with mine studies, feasibility studies, and trade-offs;
- Experience in gold or other high unit value metals;
- Good understanding of regulatory standards related to mining in Ontario.
