We are now inviting applications from senior exploration professionals to take a leading role in advancing the Makoko discovery and surrounding targets—combining strategic oversight, hands‑on technical leadership, and participate in the management of large, diverse multi‑disciplinary exploration teams. To improve and modify basin models for areas being explored for sediment hosted copper. To improve the skills of exploration geologists in the recognition of and collection of relevant geological information to inform deposition environment and basin evolution using sequence stratigraphy interpretation methods used in oil and gas exploration.

- Experience using sequence stratigraphy to identify basin evolution.
- Some exposure to the Copper exploration /mining environment highly advantageous
- Fluency in English.
- Experience in collecting logging data from drill core.
- Advanced computer and technical writing skills
You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:
- Technical report writing
- Data collection and interpretation
- 3D interpretation of sedimentary basins
- Computer literate

Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to:
Process: Support exploration on IME Exploration Permits
- Collect and interpret geological data to inform sequence stratigraphy geological models.
- Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement
- Deliver on the operating plan by supporting diamond core logging
Carry out Regional Basin Analysis for Ivanhoe Projects in Zambia and Angola
- Facilitate sequence stratigraphic modelling in other Central African Copperbelt basins (10-15% of time after initial 6 months at IME)
