Manager, Geoscience
Alamos Gold is seeking a
Manager, Geoscience to join our corporate exploration team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our global exploration programs. You will work closely with our successful and collaborative exploration teams in Canada and Mexico to help unlock the next generation of discoveries.
This position will provide high-level geoscience leadership and contribute directly to the success of our short, medium, and long-term exploration objectives across the Alamos portfolio.
As Manager, Geoscience, Global Exploration your key accountabilities will include:
- Facilitating Alamos exploration workflow across all exploration teams with an emphasis on merging geological knowledge across projects and teams to drive exploration strategy.
- Ensuring accurate data collection to support the development and maintenance of geological models for gold deposits within Alamos’ portfolio.
- Contributing to target generation initiatives at both the deposit and regional scale, with a focus on Mineral Resource expansion and new discoveries.
- Providing technical leadership across all geoscience disciplines within the exploration function.
- Working collaboratively with Alamos exploration teams to ensure site-based exploration programs are executed to the highest technical standard.
- Mentoring and supporting the next generation of Alamos geoscientists to foster and encourage technical excellence.
- Effective communication of exploration results to the corporate team.
- Facilitating alignment between site-based exploration and Alamos’ corporate exploration objectives
- Management of special technical projects as required including orientation studies
- Identify and generate new exploration opportunities
What You Bring
- Post graduate degree in Geoscience (Master’s or Phd)
- A proven track record of leading exploration projects from greenfields through advanced-stage.
- Demonstrated ability for collecting, interpreting and generating targets from geological data (core logging and mapping data)
- Registered as a Professional Geologist
- Well versed in economic geology, with multi-year experience in gold exploration either in an exploration or production setting
- Ability to integrate geoscience innovation and research to ensure successful exploration programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in geological modelling and GIS
- We are looking for a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner.
- Experience with 3D modelling software and GIS preferably Leapfrog, Micromine, and ArcGIS
