Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, you will be a part of the Mill Maintenance Team. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. You will establish our maintenance programs to ensure the achievement of project and production goals in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee mill maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance;
- Monitor and analyze key metrics including costs, safety, availability, utilization and productivity; implement improvements to address variances;
- Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve production targets, quality standards, and process optimization initiatives;
- Develop and execute maintenance strategies for fixed plant, and electrical systems, ensuring asset reliability and performance;
- Lead and manage maintenance teams, including performance management, coaching, workforce planning, and employee development;
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations;
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial management of operating and capital expenditures;
- Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, risk management and resource allocation to meet operational requirements;
- Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs, reliability systems, and inventory management of critical spare parts;
- Drive continuous improvement in maintenance systems, operational efficiency, and metallurgical performance;
- Manage process plant maintenance to maximize recovery, throughput, and cost efficiency;
- Support incident investigations and ensure timely, accurate reporting and documentation;
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and OEMs to implement best practices and technologies;
- Contribute to short- and long-term planning, including development of multi-year maintenance programs;
- Champion workforce capability through training, mentoring, and effective communication;
- Lead and participate in mill improvement and capital projects to enhance overall performance;
- Actively review 3-month plan ensuring maintenance is set up to deliver schedule;
- Develop a level of familiarization with all areas of the Process Plant and its infrastructure in order to ensure proper maintenance of the assets through the companies CMMS;
- Review, critically analyze, prioritize & authorize purchase requests and Application for Expenditure (AFEs) through the site management system;
- Contribution to all relevant reporting including weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and statistics;
- Train under the guidance of the mill maintenance superintendent to take on further responsibilities & accountabilities at the Macassa & Upper Beaver mills.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or process engineering or related discipline, with 8 years of experience in process plant operations;
- Leadership as well as interpersonal, organizational, communication and conflict resolution skills;
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude;
- Able to develop and foster a lean, efficient and dynamic team environment;
- Thorough working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures and regulations;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
- At least 3 years in a gold processing environment;
- Previous 3 years’ experience in Senior Supervisory role/s;
- Developed leadership, decision making, and management skills;
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS);
- JDE working knowledge is considered an asset;
- Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills;
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex maintenance issues.
Work Schedule
- 4/3 or 5/2 schedule at our Macassa Mine site, located in Kirkland Lake, ON.
