The movie-famous Trefil Quarry in South Wales is being auctioned in December.
The 220-acre limestone quarry has a guide price of £45,000 or US$70,920. Paul Fosh Auctions is managing the sale. The quarry is privately owned and sits next to Brecon Beacon National Park.
Movies that have utilized the quarry as a film set include The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Wrath of the Titans, which starred Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Sam Worthington.
In episode #403 of Dr. Who, the Trefil Quarry was a stand in for a snowy alien world. Clip is below.
