Africa-focused gold producer Randgold Resources (LON:RSS) said its Tongon mine in the Ivory Coast is operating normally again after the company struck a deal with some workers that had staged an illegal sit-in since late last week.

The company, which has five operating gold mines across west and central Africa, said the settlement was a collaborative effort between management, representatives of central and local authorities, and workers.

The company, however, did not provide any specifics as per what were the miners’ demands or what the deal entitles.

Shares in the company closed 0.9% down to £66.95 in London. The gold miner will unveil its full-year production numbers next week.
