Trials at a Rotorua lake have pointed to a way to clean polluted waterways and reduce algal blooms in lakes and rivers in summer.

Scion, a Crown research institute, and industrial minerals company Blue Pacific Minerals have found that a volcanic mineral called zeolite may provide the answer to reducing phosphorus and other nutrients leached into waterways, mainly from farms….more at Radio New Zealand News.
