US$6.75M settlement over pollution to Silver Valley
A mining company that polluted Silver Valley in northern Idaho has paid US$6.75 million over natural resource damages, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday. Atlantic Richfield Co., which is owned by BP PLC, was forced to pay federal, state and tribal governments after hazardous substances were released into the environment from the Bunker Hill Superfund site, according to the story.
