Video: Nations Royalty taps Indigenous streams amid market saturation, exec says

Nations Royalty (TSXV: NRC) empowers Indigenous communities by pooling royalty streams into a single public company, vice-president for corporate development Kody Penner explains.
It’s the first time the business model has been deployed in the Indigenous space. The move lowers financial risk for Indigenous groups and the royalties they contribute and gives them access to broader capital markets.
“We’re first movers in this last untapped royalty space,” Penner said during a January conference in Vancouver. “We believe we have a tangible path to being a top five royalty company in the next few years.”
The Frank Giustra-backed firm targets disruption in a crowded royalty market. Small royalty companies struggle to grow and often turn to unsafe jurisdictions, Penner said. The company wants to increase valuations and create a top-five portfolio. They focus on safe deals and long-lasting assets, Penner explained.
