Adrok Geosciences Launches in the U.S
The Scottish developers of a deep subsurface scanner, offering a faster, cheaper and greener alternative to traditional seismic exploration methods, have opened a base in Houston, Texas. Adrok Geosciences will focus on working with the exploration and prospecting industry in the US and Canada.
Adrok’s Atomic Dielectric Resonance (ADR) Scanner uses radio waves and microwaves to locate, identify and map subsurface natural resources including oil and gas, metallic ore deposits and industrial minerals. Unlike other 3D seismic technologies, ADR uses spectroscopy to measure the wavelengths and identify minerals and rock types in the subsurface.
The company built its profile in North America in 2012 after receiving a £3M investment from key client Teck Resources Limited – a Canada-based diversified resource company committed to responsible mining and mineral development. As a further boost to new business in Houston, Adrok has appointed Stuart Goldstein to head up Adrok Geosciences as VP for Business Development NAM (North America). Stuart has 32 years of global experience in the E&P sector across a number of sales and marketing roles including Upstream Global Oil & Gas consulting to the financial industry.
Gordon Stove, MD of Adrok, said: “The global oil & gas geophysical survey market place is worth about $7billion per annum and the North American exploration market is emerging as a major market for oil & gas and mining. We have identified several opportunities to work with the E&P and mining industries in the US and Canada and the launch of Adrok Geosciences allows us to service more clients in this region.
“Stuart’s commercial and technical background in the oil and gas exploration industry and his excellent knowledge of current exploration trends across the world, make him a huge asset to Adrok Geosciences. We are delighted to have him on board.”
Adrok Geosciences opened in Houston Texas on 1st January 2013.
