One of the world’s first Floating, Storage & Re-gasification Units (FSRUs) to be built from new, will benefit from cryogenic valves produced by Bestobell
Valves, part of the President Engineering Group (PEGL), in a new contract win for the company.
Bestobell Valves recently supplied the Globe and Check valves to South Korean shipbuilding company DSME for one of its first FSRUs as part of a $500k deal. DSME is building the FSRU in South Korea on behalf of US-firm Excelerate.
Mark Henley, Managing Director of Bestobell Valves, said: “It is fantastic that one of the world’s first FSRUs will be fitted with our valves. We see major growth opportunities for supplying our valves for Floating LNG facilities and it is exciting to be further developing our business relationship with one of the world’s largest shipbuilding companies.”
Valves from Bestobell were specified because the company demonstrated its expertise in this type of marine application and its extensive range of valves to meet the client’s demands. The valves were produced on time, with Bestobell’s team also providing technical support and back-up to DSME on this project.
Bestobell Valves has been a world-leader in the manufacture of cryogenic valves for industrial gas applications for over 50 years and has 15 years’ experience in supplying to the LNG marine markets. Bestobell’s Valves are widely used on LNG Carriers, FLNG (Floating Production & Storage Units) and FSRUs (Floating, Storage & Re-gasification Units). The company designs and produces valves to meet specific requirements in the marine sector and has supplied cryogenic valves to a majority of the major shipyards building LNG Carriers.
