Indonesia considering “safeguard” tariff on aluminium foil – WTO filing
GENEVA, Oct 12 (Reuters) – Indonesia is examining the case for an emergency “safeguard” measure to restrict imports of aluminium foil, it said in a regulatory filing published by the World Trade Organization on Friday.
Indonesia said industry association APRALEX had applied for safeguard measures, which can be used to protect a country’s producers from a sudden, unforeseen and damaging surge in imports, and its safeguards committee had decided to consider the case.
