Messe Frankfurt Argentina selected to organize Arminera trade fair until 2021

The Argentine Chamber of Mining Companies (CAEM) has called for bids for the organization of Arminera in order to promote the exhibition, which has been in the market in 10 previous editions.

Marcelo Álvarez, President of CAEM, said: “We want to position Arminera at the regional and international level, with a new dynamics, presenting an industry that has been strengthened and shares common objectives; a vigorous and highly professional sector. We want each exhibition to reflect mining as an engine of production growing continuously, with unparalleled opportunities in the future, thus becoming the ideal place to introduce the latest advances in technology, equipment and services. A meeting point that gathers the strategic actors of the mining sector”.

Between 2002 and 2015, the mining industry experienced an exponential growth that has slowed down in the last two years. It is expected that with the recent elimination of the withholding taxes on mining exports, new capital will arrive and stimulate the regional economies, while taking care of the environment.

The country has strong geological possibilities, since less than 20% of the regions with mining potential have been explored. Even in the case of minerals produced in large volumes, Argentina’s participation in global reserves is more relevant compared to its participation in production. These events position the country among the 15 best destinations for mining exploration.

In this context, Messe Frankfurt Argentina was selected to organize the next three editions of the trade fair. The firm is the Argentine subsidiary of Messe Frankfurt GmbH, one of the leading trade fairs companies worldwide. Each of its events is an opportunity not to be missed for the major buyers and decision makers of the national and international industry.

The next edition of Arminera will be carried out on May 9-11, 2017 in Costa Salguero Center, Buenos Aires. The fair will cover an estimated area of 11,600 sqm. It is expected the participation of more than 250 exhibitors from different countries and the visit of 8,500 national and international businessmen, professionals and experts.
