Mining Industry Leader Joins Maine Pointe

Maine Pointe LLC, an operations management and implementation firm that is a leader in sustainable global supply chain transformation, welcomes Cory Smith as its new Executive Vice President, Mining.

A proven advisor and business growth leader for high impact market strategies in complex environments, Smith leverages over 20 years of experience in strategic and consultative sales to help clients successfully transform their business to achieve their revenue and profit goals. He joins Maine Pointe to build upon the firm’s success with clients in the Mining industry and expand its engagement with sector companies.

Smith most recently served in a key business development post for Ernst & Young, growing a broad range of C-suite relationships across the Canadian Mining industry, with privately-held companies, and in the public sector. In that capacity, he fostered relationships with such Mining industry leaders as BHP Billiton, Finning, Teck Resources, the Lundin Group and Pan American Silver.

As Account Director for Shared Services BC, he headed the business unit responsible for $70 million in corporate revenue – advancing the segment strategy and fulfilling customer satisfaction requirements. He spearheaded the development of their new Service Level Agreement framework, which resulted in new commitments with 95% of their major customers, representing $70 million in operational revenue.

In his role as Senior District Manager at ADP, Smith worked with a variety of sector leaders including Bentall, Colliers, Creation Technologies, Krispy Kreme, Canadian Springs Water, UMA Engineering, and Coast Hotels. Early on he was a Branch President for Bartercard, the world’s largest business-to-business trade exchange with $3 billion in annual volume. He also served as District Sales Manager for The Southwestern Company, a $50 million marketer of family-oriented educational reference books and software.

Smith earned an M.B.A. from Simon Fraser University and a B.A. from the University of British Columbia.
