Positive Spirit in the Exhibition Halls

Over 27,120 international trade visitors gathered information on the entire spectrum of innovations in mining technology, preparation, material handling and Safety & Security over four exhibition days. Spirits were high in the exhibition halls and many exhibitors testified to a good investment climate or already announced their repeated participation for 2017.

Received very well was the trade fair’s re-orientation last year towards all areas of mining such as energy feedstock, ores and industrial minerals – a fact that underscored its importance for the international market even further. Commenting on this Artur Hubert, Sales Director CIS at Hazemag & EPR, explained: “To Hazemag Mining UGOL ROSSII & MINING is the non-plus-ultra trade fair in Russia. By extending the themes covered to include ores and industrial minerals this trade fair has also tremendously increased in importance for Hazemag Minerals. This is why we plan to stress the minerals segment even further at the forthcoming event.”

To the tune of 500 exhibitors (2015: 379 exhibitors) from 25 countries presented approx. 4,523 exhibits on net exhibition space of 12,093 square metres (2015: 11,150 m²). Exhibiting nations alongside Russia included Armenia, China, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Norway, Poland, Belarus, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, USA, Uzbekistan and – for the first time – also  Israel and South Korea. The Association of British Mining Equipment Companies (ABMEC) flew its flag with an official country participation. With 56 companies Germany again accounted for the highest number of international exhibitors at the Kuzbasskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Center. Some of them were represented as part of a small group subsidised by the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia. Emphasising the outstanding importance of this trade fair for her company, Latifé Minutella, Export Manager of Mining at the Prysmian Group Germany, said: “UGOL ROSSII & MINING is the only trade fair that the Prysmian Group Germany participates in Russia. It offers us the best opportunity to meet our key customers in Russia. This is why we are now already planning to take part in the trade fair again next year – for the 13th time already.”

The “Safety & Security” held as part of UGOL ROSSII & MINING also met with avid interest. Here health and safety at work were centre stage. Next to traditional machinery and plant manufacturers for mining and their upstream suppliers, there were numerous companies presenting personal protective equipment for miners as well as trends in mine safety and explosion protection. With its leading international occupational health and safety trade fair Messe Düsseldorf looks back on many years of experience in this area. Beyond this, it cooperates with Messe Düsseldorf Moscow and its Russian partner Kuzbass Fair to organise the most important mining trade fair at the mining site Novokuznetsk in Russia.

UGOL ROSSII & MINING 2017, the 24th International Trade Fair for Mining Technology, Preparation, Material Handling and Safety & Security will be held from 6 to 9 June 2017 at the Kuzbasskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Center.
