The Industrial Refueling Robot Pitstop
May 14, 2014
The Challenge: automated fueling of rigid dump trucks in extreme circumstances and a dirty environment. For example the mining industry. Safety, efficiency and environmental conservation are central issues in this field. Rotec Engineering wanted to commit to these important targets and started to develop.
Now we proudly present the first fully automated refueling process for heavy industrial applications: the Industrial Refueling Robot Pitstop. With this new product we give our customers the most advanced but still robust fueling system in the world. Including all the great benefits that come with it.

• Because the process is fully automated, no one needs to be near the fueling process. This results in a safe working environment and lower labor costs.
• With a fueling speed up to 300 gallons per minute and attaching in seconds, the system also brings the most efficient fueling process available.
• An environmental-friendly fueling solution is achieved because a fueling unit, which encases the receiver, is mounted on the truck and protects the receiver against dirt. This unit, combined with the dry break connection and our patented system for exact alignment, leads to a reliable and perfect attachment process.
• The system is easy to use and operate. The driver connects from his seat to the robot with the aid of a mobile device using a Wi-Fi connection. A live video stream is then pushed to the device which enables the driver to position his truck within the margins of the robot. After confirming the position of the truck, the driver is able to follow and monitor the entire process from the comfort of his cabin.
• The system only fuels vehicles that are equipped with the fueling unit, and all the fueling data are logged. These safeguards, among others, guarantee that no fuel is ever misplaced or embezzled.
