TransTank with Robofuel automated refueling arm

From September 26–28 Western Global will be exhibiting at Booth 26029 in the South Hall at MINExpo 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Every four years MINExpo aims to offer solutions to the mining industry by connecting industry leaders with innovative products, services, technologies, and expertise that will allow them to capitalize and adapt in the rapidly changing world of metal, mineral, and energy extraction.

Throughout the expo, Western Global will display a number of storage solutions that are designed to increase productivity on mining sites, including the TransTank range of bulk fuel tanks. The TransTank features a double-walled ISO container design that enables it to be positioned wherever equipment is in operation—either on-circuit or in-pit—to reduce travel and idle time for haul trucks and machinery. It’s containerized design also allows for optimal mobility and deployment, minimizing installation time and costs.

On display with the TransTank will be the Robofuel automated refueling arm. The Robofuel (formerly known as the MAR) utilizes a state-of-the-art vision sensing and detection system to enable the safe automated refueling of conventional mining equipment onsite.

In addition to automating the refueling of trucks, the system monitors fuel consumption and waste, reduces personnel exposure to hydrocarbons and other harmful situations that may occur during refueling, and reduces operating costs by allowing personnel who would otherwise need to man a fueling station to be deployed to other, higher-value tasks on site. By combining the on-site fuel storage capabilities of the TransTank with the automated refueling of the Robofuel system, any worksite can reduce cash costs, improve personnel safety, and increase the efficiency of its operations.

There will be live demonstrations of the automated arm throughout the expo, allowing attendees to see firsthand how the cutting-edge technology of the Robofuel system, partnered with Western Global’s industry-leading fuel storage systems, will enable them to excel in all areas of their mining enterprises.
