Your Impact
You will play a key role in strengthening our safety culture and ensuring the consistent application of Newmont’s Health and Safety standards across the business unit. By providing technical expertise, coaching, and analysis, you’ll help identify risks, drive continuous improvement, and support our commitment to protecting people and the environment.
As Part of Our Team, You Will
- Support the consistent and effective application of Newmont’s Health & Safety (H&S) standards, procedures, and programs across the business unit.
- Assess key H&S initiatives including Fatality Risk Management, industrial hygiene, emergency response, and occupational health to identify risks and recommend improvements.
- Participate in compliance, assurance, audit, and governance activities, and support the implementation and monitoring of corrective actions.
- Analyse H&S events, trends, and performance data to uncover systemic gaps and drive ongoing improvement. Facilitate incident investigations and ensure timely communication of lessons learned.
- Assist operational teams in developing and maintaining effective safety training programs for employees and contractors.
- Coordinate the planning, delivery, and evaluation of Rapid Response training and emergency response exercises and assist with the review and maintenance of emergency response procedures.
- Develop and disseminate H&S metrics and performance reports to support informed decision-making and measure progress against safety objectives.
- Foster a culture of cross-site collaboration and knowledge sharing to strengthen H&S outcomes and create business value across the organization.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Strong background and experience in Health and Safety roles within mining, heavy industry, or related sectors.
- Advanced knowledge of risk management, incident investigation, and safety systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret safety data and identify trends.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams.
- Proficient in H&S management systems, reporting tools, and project coordination.
- Willingness to travel regularly to mine sites.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Spanish is a significant plus.
Your Work Environment
- This is a remote role, and we welcome applications from candidates of any of our site locations. You will collaborate virtually with diverse, multicultural teams across the Americas Business Unit and may occasionally travel to operational sites as required. Success in this role relies on adaptability, proactive communication, and strong virtual engagement skills.
- The listed salary range applies to positions based in Colorado. Compensation may vary for candidates hired in other locations.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $110,160 - 144,585. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
