Responsibilities
- Comply with Barrick’s established health and safety policies, procedures, practices and Occupational Health and Safety Acts.
- Visibly practice safety leadership through leading by example.
- Actively ensure a safe environment for yourself, your peers and local communities through regular communication and due diligence.
- Promptly report and correct unsafe acts and conditions.
- Actively ensure that fatal risks are understood and critical controls are maintained.
- Operate the Easer-L Epiroc Machine (Cubex).
- Read, understand, control and adjust Easer machine setting.
- Test operation of machines.
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
- Read and understand cable bolt layouts.
- Pilot and ream safely and efficiently in underground environment.
Qualification Requirements
- Engineering High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate of Competence in Easer-L (Cubex).
Experience And Skills Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience of operating an Easer-L (Cubex) machine in an underground mining environment.
- Sound knowledge and experience of underground mining practices and operations.
- Knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and standards applicable to underground mining.
- Strong interpersonal and training skills with an uncompromising safety ethic and a focus on quality first.

About The Team
The Loulo-Gounkoto complex comprises two distinct mining permits, Loulo and Gounkoto, and is situated in western Mali, bordering Senegal and adjacent to the Falémé River.
Société des Mines de Loulo SA (Loulo) owns the Loulo gold mine, and Société des Mines de Gounkoto (Gounkoto) owns the Gounkoto gold mine. Both Loulo and Gounkoto are owned by Barrick (80%), and the State of Mali (20%).
