Position Description
Loulo Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Leading Hand to join and grow our team. The primary role is to supervise and manage all maintenance activities to ensure they are conducted safely and efficiently. This includes staff development, training, and competency assessment to continuously improve maintenance efficiency and availability for underground mobile equipment.

Responsibilities
- Comply with Barrick’s established health and safety policies, procedures, practices and Occupational Health and Safety Acts.
- Visibly practice safety leadership through leading by example.
- Actively ensure a safe environment for yourself, your peers and local communities through regular communication and due diligence.
- Promptly report and correct unsafe acts and conditions.
- Actively ensure that fatal risks are understood and critical controls are maintained.
- Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations in the underground mobile fleet.
- Create and implement maintenance procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to detect and resolve problems.
- Plan and manage all repair and installation activities.
- Ensure all department workers adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates.
- Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Oversee equipment stock and place orders for new supplies as required.
- Manage maintenance personnel, including but not limited to overseeing their performance, training, and development.
- Liaise closely with the Mining, Engineering, and Technical Services teams to ensure maintenance work is planned to minimize impacts on mining operations.
- Evaluate equipment performance and use this knowledge to develop improved maintenance strategies.
- Ensure safe and efficient operations in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
- Conduct inspection activities and follow up on recommendations.
- Investigate incidents and follow up on recommendations.
- Supervise all new projects and construction activities.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control for all maintenance-related platform activities.
- Maintain the integrity and availability of all equipment.
- Gather data to support equipment condition monitoring.
- Provide feedback to OEMs to enable improvements to equipment or its operation.
- Develop and upskill the national workforce.
- Contribute in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve targets in accordance with mine safety standards, policies, and procedures, while ensuring daily targets are met.
Qualification Requirements
Recognized Mechanical / Electrical Trade Certificate.
Experience And Skills Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role in underground operations.
- Minimum of 5 years working with Sandvik Equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Personnel management skills.
- Sound knowledge and experience of underground mining practices and operations.
- Knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and standards applicable to underground mining.
- Strong interpersonal and training skills with an uncompromising safety ethic and a focus on quality first.

About The Team
The Loulo-Gounkoto complex comprises two distinct mining permits, Loulo and Gounkoto, and is situated in western Mali, bordering Senegal and adjacent to the Falémé River.
Société des Mines de Loulo SA (Loulo) owns the Loulo gold mine, and Société des Mines de Gounkoto (Gounkoto) owns the Gounkoto gold mine. Both Loulo and Gounkoto are owned by Barrick (80%), and the State of Mali (20%).
