Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Health & Safety Supervisor, you will be part of the Health & Safety Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Develop and facilitate the implementation of Health and Safety Management tools (Job Hazard Analysis, Job Task Observation, Incident Declaration forms, Incident Investigation ICAM), as well as assisting in developing Meliadine’s Health & Safety Programs;
- Initiate cross-departmental training to improve workflow and streamline the management of risks both at operational level and in larger scope such as Health and Safety risks;
- Assist in management system audits as well as audits in respect of Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) efforts;
- Review and optimize the utilization of H&S software and the standardization of document controls;
- Perform workplace audits;
- Participate in departmental safety meetings;
- Other duties as required.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Relations, Sciences or other field related to Health & Safety
- Certificate in a Health and Safety related field combined with a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is considered an asset;
- 5+ years of experience in Health and Safety;
- Mining experience on surface & underground is considered an asset;
- ICAM Investigation experience is considered an asset;
- Bowtie risk analysis experience;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
