Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Department.. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Operate 8 and 11-yard scoops with and without remote controls and tele-remote cameras for the production stopes;
- Perform daily equipment inspections;
- Inspect the working environment by scaling rocks;
- Ensure health and safety requirements are met;
- Operate other equipment associated with production, as required;
- Obtain certification on other equipment associated with production, as required.
What You Need To Succeed
- High School Diploma;
- NAC certification or diploma in mineral extraction or equivalent;
- Proven experience on 8 and 11-yard scoops and up;
- Minimum of 4000 hours of experience on scoops;
- Proven experience with remote controls and tele remotes (with camera) in production stopes;
- Mining Modules, Common Core or equivalent training underground;
- Mining engineering plan reading skills;
- Valid approval letter under the explosives regulations or equivalent, such as explosives permit.
Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
