Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, you will be part of the Geology Department. You will ensure the proper geological practices of the team are being followed in terms of planning, organizing, managing and controlling programs to define and extract the mineral reserves/resources existing at the mining site and in its vicinity. You will also play an important role in the management of the Production Geology team and perform good geological practices in terms of providing quality geological information to mine operations to maximize the mining of the resource. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Manage the production geology team, directing workflow and planning for the different workforce needs while ensuring proper levels of efficiency and productivity;
- Ensure bridge between Open Pit and Underground Geology in terms of reporting, reconciliation, mill feed blending and follow-up, stockpiles management and other shared activities;
- Assist Geology Superintendent in short-term and long-term planning and follow-up;
- Participate in the assessment of the mineral potential of acquisition and exploration projects, and analyze associated risks and opportunities;
- Propose, recommend and follow-up delineation drilling programs or any specific program required;
- Review design exercises & optimize ore recovery;
- Assist Geology Superintendent in the preparation of annual budget;
- Assist in the preparation and/or validation of the daily, weekly and monthly reports;
- Participate in the recruitment process with candidates for the Geology department when necessary;
- Assess, organize and approve the required departmental trainings;
- Keep his/her department at the forefront of new technologies, following the best practices in the mining industry;
- Mentor the other members of the geology team;
- Respect and promote the standards of the company and the governmental policies and regulations at play.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
- 8-10 years of experience in underground and/or open pit mining (narrow vein type experience being an asset);
- Resources evaluation and exploration experience are considered an asset;
- 5 years of supervisory experience and strong leadership capabilities;
- Knowledge of software Datamine, DHLogger/Fusion, Leapfrog, Deswik, Centric;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 10 days of work, followed by 10 days for transportation and rest; a 4/3 (Monday to Thursday) or 7/7 schedule can also be a possibility;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
