Senior Superintendent I, Geology
The Kamoa Copper Mine is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It's a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

To manage and coordinate the KCSA Geology department and provide input into mining operations by using best practice principles and processes. The incumbent leads a team of specialists and ensures best cuts are obtained to provide maximum ore at the best quality
You will have the following:
- Must have a Degree in Geology
- Must have at least 10 years' relevant experience in the industry in Exploration and Mining Geology
- Must have Mining experience in African countries highly advantageous
- Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Knowledge of French and Swahili will be considered highly advantageous.
Technical Skills should include:
- Understanding structural Geology and Geology of deposits
- Basic understanding of sampling and resource Geology
- Drilling experience
- Competent in mine related legislation
- Advanced Computer literacy - MS Office and discipline specific software [Leapfrog, Datamine, Sable, CadsMineand Geomodelling]
- Policy, process, and standards development
