Freeport's iconic open cut mine in Indonesia is going underground – nearly doubling copper and gold production and earning $8 billion per year in the process.
The agency is soliciting bids from explorers who are willing to finance their own trips to the moon and collect soil or rock samples without actually returning the material to earth.
Country is planning to raise surveillance of copper and aluminum imports while developing policies to curb shipments from China and other Asian nations to protect domestic producers, said two government sources and an industry official.
