The FTSE/JSE Africa Platinum Mining Index jumped 4.9% Wednesday, taking its advance this year to 6.5%, as palladium touched an all-time high above $2,100 an ounce.
The agreement increases contracted capacity from 3 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) to 6 Mtpa with an option for Teck to extend up to 9 Mtpa from Neptune Terminals.
Based on nickel recoveries in excess of 98%, the company believes that the resulting solution could be an ideal feed for the production of nickel and cobalt sulphate.
