Capacitor Metals Corp. Announces Initiation of Metallurgical Test Program

(via TheNewswire)

July 2, 2026 – TheNewswire - Capacitor Metals Corp. (the “Company” or “Capacitor”) is pleased to announce the initiation of the metallurgical program on material from the Upper Fir Tantalum & Niobium Deposit in British Columbia at SGS Burnaby under the direction of Michel Robert (M.Sc.). The goal of the program is to process raw material from the Upper Fir Deposit through to the production of a tantalum-niobium (Ta-Nb) flotation concentrate. Historic recovery rates for the flotation concentrate are +75%. It is intended that this concentrate will then be used to test the extraction and production of separated final tantalum and niobium oxides for delivery to industry.

The Company intends to transport 2 tonnes of crushed rock from the 2,000-tonne Upper Fir Deposit bulk sample to SGS Canada Burnaby, from the ~120 tonnes in storage in Richmond. It is expected that the pilot plant program will run until fall 2026.

The historic Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) completed by AMEC in 2011 for the Upper Fir Tantalum & Niobium Deposit was based upon the process design flow sheet producing a commercially marketable tantalum/ niobium concentrate. In subsequent work, estimated overall recovery rates increased to 77.2% for tantalum and 75.1% for niobium, over the base case of 65-70% in the PEA. Within the rougher and cleaner flotation circuit the recoveries achieved in open circuit exceeded 96% for tantalum and 92% for niobium.

The Upper Fir Tantalum & Niobium Deposit is one of the world’s largest defined resources of tantalum, with a current indicated resource of 48.4 M tonnes at 197 ppm tantalum and 1,610 ppm niobium, and an inferred resource of 5.4 M tonnes at 191 ppm tantalum and 1,760 niobium. The indicated resource amounts to 21M pounds of tantalum and 171M pounds of niobium. The inferred resource amounts to 2.2M pounds of tantalum and 21M pounds of niobium.
