Rapidly turn 2D geological and geotechnical mapping into detailed 3D

Concept:

Instead of mapping the face on paper, map it onto a 2D tablet then export your map directly to your 3D software of choice.

Capture both pattern and properties (as with mapping on paper)
Rapidly get all geological information in 3D
Use specifically for detailed geological/geotechnical mapping
Map to grid or photo

Workflow Summary:

Photograph face (optional)
Import photograph and stretch (if necessary)
Draw geology onto grid (with or without photo)
Capture properties of features in dropdown menus
Place between 1 and 3 survey points on face
Save project
Receive survey points x, y, and z and update point properties
Export lines and properties to 3D csv / dxf files
Import into software of choice in 3D

Wayne has over 20 years of experience in the mining and exploration industry. He has certification in rock mechanics and has operated as a geotechnical engineer on two mining operations (8 years mining experience). Consequently he specializes in defining the structural geology of mining projects in order properly characterize the rock mass for geotechnical engineering applications – for scoping to pre-feasibility studies, as well problem-solving in active mining operations.
