Kazatomprom obtains financing for sulphuric acid plant

Kazatomprom, the world’s largest uranium producer, has agreed a financing deal with the Development Bank of Kazakhstan for construction of the Taikonur sulphuric acid plant in Turkestan, it said on Tuesday.
The total cost of the project is about 113 billion tenge ($222.5 million), with the Development Bank of Kazakhstan loan financing of 85 billion tenge.
Kazatomprom said the plant is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
