Vale aims to finish recovery work at Viga, Fabrica mines in 2-3 weeks

Brazilian miner Vale expects to complete work to restore operational conditions at its Fabrica and Viga mines within two to three weeks, CEO Gustavo Pimenta said on Friday.
Resuming operations will depend on clearance from authorities, he added.
The miner halted operations in the two units last month after a water overflow. Analysts estimate the mines account for about 2% of Vale’s iron ore production outlook for this year.
