US Mint sales plummeted 60% in February
Sales of American Eagle bullion dropped around 60% in February, with only 31,000 ounces of coins sold, compared with 80,500 ounces in the same month last year.
In January the US Mint recorded 91,500 total sales. Since the beginning of the year gold has gained 11%.
Bullion coins include gold and silver sales. The platinum American Eagles are no longer produced.
