Canada’s largest gold coin steps out

The Royal Canadian Mint displayed its $1-million face value, 100 kg Gold Maple Leaf Bullion coin at Richmond Hill on Thursday. It was marking the opening of the Canadian PMX retail store and showroom in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

The coin was deemed the world’s largest gold coin by the Guinness World Records in October 2007, but that title may have been lost due to the Perth Mint producing a one-tonne gold coin.
