American Silver Eagles set possible record one-day sale
The United States Mint said total orders today for the 2013-dated American Silver Eagle, the country’s official silver bullion coin, was 3.937 million.
Coins Update says this opening day sales tally is a possible record. Last year the mint sold 3.197 million American Silver Eagles and the year before sold 2.085 million.
The Silver Eagle is guaranteed to contain one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver.
