Lynas Rare Earths posts 70% rise in fourth-quarter revenue
Australia’s Lynas Rare Earths (ASX: LYC) reported a nearly 70% rise in fourth-quarter revenue on Wednesday, supported by an increase in average selling price and strong demand from customers seeking sustainable supply chains outside China.
The rare earths producer reported higher gross sales revenue of A$288.9 million ($202.14 million) for the quarter ended June 30, from A$170.2 million a year earlier, but missed Visible Alpha’s consensus estimate of A$359.8 million.
Stronger average selling prices across all rare earth products lifted quarterly revenue to its highest level in four years.
The average selling price rose to A$98.2 per kilogram (kg) during the quarter, from A$60.2 per kg a year earlier.
“Customers continue to focus on securing sustainable, outside China supply chains due to geopolitics and export restrictions,” the company said.
Lynas, the world’s largest rare earths producer outside China, posted total rare earth oxide production of 3,481 metric tons, up from 3,212 metric tons a year ago.
