Newmont beats second-quarter profit estimates

Newmont (NYSE: NEM) beat analysts’ estimate for second-quarter profit on Thursday, as the world’s biggest gold miner benefited from higher bullion prices.
On an adjusted basis, the company earned $2.10 per share for the quarter ended June 30, compared with analysts’ average estimate of $1.99, according to data compiled by LSEG.
